Don't forget to celebrate Hispanic/Latinx Heritage Month which is from September 15th to October 15th. This year's theme is: "Unidos: Inclusivity for a Stronger Nation." The theme encourages us to ensure that all voices are represented and welcomed, to help build communities and a stronger nation.
Come check out some books to help you discover more about Hispanic/Latinx Heritage Month at your campus library.
October is LGBTQ+ History Month. Every day in October celebrates the achievements of 31 LGBTQ+ Icons. Join us to celebrate by finding out more and supporting our fellow LGBTQ+ students and staff. We have a new LGBTQ+ LibGuide available for showcasing and highlighting library, community, and web resources that help provide support, information and guidance for anyone looking to understand more about the LGBTQ+ community. Use LibCal to Reserve a Study Room
You can now book a study room at East, Northwest, or West campus using LibCal! The steps are simple:
Go to the PCC LibCal website: https://pima.libcal.com/spaces
Select the location you'd like to visit.
Select the date you'd like to reserve.
Pick a room with availability that works for you. Keep in mind the room's capacity and amenities.
Submit your time. Fill out the form that pops up (you'll need your PCC email address and PCC A number).
Wait for confirmation. Keep the confirmation email and arrive on time. If you are 10 or more minutes late, we can't guarantee your reservation will be held.
Some things to keep in mind:
You can reserve up to 2 blocks of study time (4 total hours) per day.
Because the study rooms and pods are popular, you can't sign up for a whole semester's worth of reservations all at once--everyone needs a fair shot at reserving spaces. You can make only 2 bookings per day and rooms become reservable just 30 days ahead of time (in other words you can't reserve November dates until we're into October.)
If you make a booking and then realize you don't need the space, please cancel your booking to free it up for another student.

Fun fact: I am a mariachi and have been playing professional mariachi music for over 12 years now. I can play any string instrument, including the guitar, harp and bass and can sing a little. In my spare time, I like to go fishing, visit the great outdoors or play video games. I am also the third generation to be hired by PCC; my mom was a Financial Aid Coordinator and my Grandma was a Student Advisor :)
Christine Seliga, East Campus Librarian
Christine Seliga started as the new Makerspace Librarian at East Campus Library in late July. Since then she has been helping hire new Makerspace staff and planning the Makerspaces yearly activities. Fun fact: Christine has watched the Running of the Bulls, hiked the Inca Trail and driven the Alaska Marine Highway. She and her family love to travel!
