About East Campus Library

Graduate Exit Survey response to the question: Please share a favorite memory or any thoughts you have about your PCC experience: "Getting help from the East Campus [library team], they are so nice and willing to help you. They are wonderful people!!”

A handwritten card from a student to all of us: “Thank you!! For giving me the tools I need to succeed.”

The youngest and only male with three older sisters. I wore girl hand-me-downs till mid-second grade. Who could tell it was the seventies. At eight I ran through a plate glass door. When I was 11 I was shot in the leg by my friend. I managed to run home but fainted prior to the patio door. At 13 while sailing the Chesapeake Bay I managed to capsize my next-door neighbor’s 18-foot daysailer. In high school, I totaled three cars in imitation of Luke Duke (The Dukes of Hazzard!). And while training at Ft. Bragg was struck by lightning. A decorated veteran of the First Gulf War. According to the internet, librarian is one of the 10 safest jobs in America. That is why I am a librarian.

Alexis Kopkowski, Librarian

Alexis is an Arizona native who is living her best life at the east campus library and can assist with research or reference questions.  She is a PhD Candidate at the U of A studying American Indian Studies and Public Health.  Amy Poehler replied to one of her tweets about being a librarian and that amount of happiness has yet to be matched.

Library Visitors

PCC Vet Tech program dogs go on daily walks through the library. The benefit of these furry visitors goes both ways-- interacting with the dogs is a stress relief for students, and exposing the dogs to new people and environments helps their socialization skills to make them ready for adoption when they “graduate” at the end of the semester.

I graduated from Sul Ross State University a long time ago! My husband Gene and I are Arizona Cardinals fans. I love to golf not as diehard as my husband but do enjoy a game now and then! Emily Jacobson, Library Services Specialist

I received my Bachelor of Fine Arts at Utah State University, and my Master of Arts at the University of Arizona in Information Resources and Library Science. I've worked for Pima Community College for almost 5 years at East Campus Library where I maintain and update their library Instagram account and work on the physical library display's. I love serving a diverse student population, and helping students in their research, citation and editing needs.
