Citing Sources: Chicago Style (Author-Date)

A guide to citing sources in MLA, APA, and Chicago format.

Chicago Style: Author-Date System

The Author Date system is generally used in the physical, natural and social sciences.  It uses parenthetical citations in-text, with a References List at the end of the paper.

Chicago Style has two distinct formats for citing sources. Check with your instructor to verify which format you should use.
