Is it scholarly?

1. A scholarly book is written by an expert in the discipline of psychology. And it will be written with other experts in mind.

2. A scholarly book will formally cite all of its sources.  This will include in-text citations and a list of references.

3. If a book is published by a university press (Oxford University Press) or a scholarly association (American Psychological Association), then it is probably scholarly.

Note: Some books are written by experts but primarily for the general public. These books are quasi-scholarly, but generally reliable.
