If you have chosen a very famous author like Maya Angelou, you should be able to find entire books that discuss the author's life and works.
Use a Subject Search the Library Catalog to find books ABOUT your author.
Tips for seaching the catalog:

Select "Subject" from the drop-down box and type in your author's last name, first name (i.e. Angelou, Maya).

Look for subjects that include words like "biography" or "criticism and interpretation."
