COVID-19 Info & Resources: Online Request & Curbside Pick Up for Books and Technology

Online Request and Curbside Pick Up for Books & Technology- How Does it Work?

While our campus library locations are closed, you can still checkout our laptops, tablets, books and DVDs. Here's how (check out video instructions here):

1. Go the Library home page (https://pima.edu/library), click on the Books and More button.

2. Search for the book, DVD or device you'd like to borrow.
(For Registered  PCC Students ONLY: looking for technology devices, type CARES Dell laptop, CARES MacBook, or CARES iPad in the search box*) NOTE: All wifi hotspots are now reserved. Use LibChat or Ask a Librarian to find out about getting on the hotspot waitlist.

3. Click on the Request link and login using your Pima ID when prompted.

  • Select West Campus as the pick up location (that's the only location available at this time.)

4. Click on the circle next to one of the devices listed as IN LIBRARY.  (Don't click on one that says HOLD or lists a Date, those are laptops that are already checked out to another student)

  • Scroll to the bottom, and click REQUEST SELECTED ITEM.
  • Wait to hear from us- it might take a few days. Be sure to check your Pima email.

5. When you get the email directing you to schedule your pickup, use the forms in the next box to choose a convenient time.

  • IMPORTANT NOTE: Don't attempt to schedule a pick up until after you get the email from us letting you know your request is ready. Once you've scheduled your pick up, you'll get a confirmation email.

6. On the day of your pick up, we'll bring your items out to you in your car or get them to you at our walk-up pick up spot.

  • Please bring photo ID and wear a mask.

*Certain programs of study such as Nursing, Vet Tech and Hospitality recommend the use of iPads. For most students, the Dell laptop will be the most functional. If you're not sure what to request, check with your faculty.

How long will it take?

Plan on several days from the point of request to pick up. If your item is already at our West Campus, we just need to pull it from the shelf, and send you the instructions to schedule your pick up. If you're requesting an item from one of the campuses other than West, please be patient. Delivery of items between campuses is still limited to once per week and so it may take several extra days for us to get back to you. If you're requesting an item that is already checked out and/or that has other holds placed before yours, there will also be a wait as requests are first come, first served.

Schedule Your Pick Up: Wait until you get the email from us saying your item is ready!

STOP! Have you received an email notice from us asking you to schedule your pick up? If not, wait. Don't schedule your pick up until you get the email notice that your item is ready.

Once you've requested your item(s) from the library catalog and you've received the email from us asking you to schedule a day and time block, you're ready to complete one of the following forms. Please allow for 2 business days advance notice, prior to scheduling your pick up.
Oct. 5 - Oct. 8; PCC Library Curbside Schedule Request Form Oct. 5 - Oct. 8

You will receive an email, at the email address listed in the form, confirming the scheduled pickup day and time. Please, wait for an email confirming your appointment request prior to coming to West Campus.

Day of Curbside Pick Up

On the day of your pick up, bring your Photo ID (examples: Pima ID, AZ ID, High School ID), your cell phone, and a mask.

Pull up to the designated location for Library Pick up at West Campus in the Anklam-facing roundabout (see map below). There will be a whiteboard/ sign. Please stay in your vehicle. If you are a walk-up patron please stay near the whiteboard/ sign until a staff member approaches with a book cart.

Call 520-206-3054 and let the staff member know that you are here for curbside pick up. Remain in your vehicle or near the sign. Do not attempt to enter the building.

A staff member will bring out your materials and verify your photo ID.

If you are able to pop your trunk from within the vehicle, please do so and the library staff member will place the requested items inside.  If you are unable to open the trunk without exiting the car, please open your rear door or window for the library staff member.

If you are unable to make your appointment please contact the library at 520-206-3054 so we can reschedule.
Failure to make your appointment will result in items being returned to their home campuses, following quarantine procedures. To obtain those items again, you would need to start the process all over again.
