REA 112HP - Northwest - Annotated Bibliography: 4. Professional Organization or Association

What is a Professional Association?

Every profession has an organization or association for students and professionals.  Some, such as nursing and education, have many professional associations for the various types of professionals within a career (such as Neonatal Nursing or Special Education).  Professional associations offer career information, training, conferences and other resources for members.  Association or organization websites can be valuable sources of information for the career researcher.

Search through Google or another search engine using the name of your career and the words "professional" and "association." For example:  teaching professional association or art professional association.

Most professional organization web-sites end in ".org" rather than ".com".
