Artificial Intelligence (AI)

What is ChatGPT?

ChatGPT is large language model tool that uses artificial intelligence (more specifically, natural language processing), to answer user-generated prompts. It was developed by OpenAI using the GPT 3.5 (Generative Pre-Trained Transformer) and is currently available for public use.

Limitations

ChatGPT is not connected to the internet and does not function like a search engine. It was trained on a massive dataset that was collected prior to 2021 and so it cannot source answers to questions after that date. There are some browser extensions that offer a way around this.

ChatGPT can only provide textual responses, unlike other bots or virtual assistants it does not link out to the internet, show images or videos, or provide any non-textual media.
