Tribes of Arizona

Arizona is home to 22 Federally recognized tribal nations

Tucson is located on the traditional homelands of the Tohono O'odham Nation and the present day homelands of the Pascua Yaqui tribe. Tucson got its name from the Tohono O'odham word, Schook-shon which means "at the foot of black hill."
