Researching your Ethnographic Essay

This guide will help you find information for your Ethnographic Essay.

 

1. Choose a topic

This will probably center on an ethnic group or other population for ethnographic analysis.

Try the Choose a culture tab.  This will also help you get background informatioin.

2. Get supporting research

Try one of the MegaSearch tabs, or both.

After your get your search results, you can filter any search to:

Scholarly & Peer Review and/or to

the Discipline: Anthropology

You can also experiment with the following database:

  • eHRAF: World Cultures
  • This is a highly technical anthropology database. So, it may be good to meet with a librarian.

3. Cite your sources

The Citing Sources tab, has sections on the following styles

  • MLA
  • APA
  • Chicago (two styles)
