Get Started with Reference Resources

Begin your research by seeking some general background information about your topic using reference resources.  Some reference resource will be available in print at the library.  Other reference resources are available electronically.  This page will guide you in all types of reference resources.

Online Reference Resources

Gale Virtual Reference Library is one of the many online database that searches numerous encyclopedias at once, including the Encyclopedia of Global Warming and Change and Climate Change in Context

When accessing the database from off campus, you will be asked for your MyPima username and password.

Reference Books: Encyclopedias

Encyclopedias can be a great starting place -- they give you facts and provide an overview of a topic. They also list books, journal articles, and other sources where you can get more in-depth information.
