Citefast.com is a free ad-supported citation generator. It seems to do a good job. However, you need to know what you are doing. We recommend using the the Manual entry mode, rather than using the search feature.
Time saver: If you found an article in a library database, you probably emailed it to yourself. This email probably includes the APA citation too!
- Choose the correct publication type.
- Book
- Journal (for an article)
- Other (browse the possible types)
- Webpage
- Warning: before you use "Webpage," click the "Other" tab. If your source fits anything on theis list, use the category on the list.
- Use "Webpage" only when there is no other type that fits, and the work has no parent publication (e.g. journal, blog) other than the website itself.
- Don't use the search box provided. This will lead you astray.
- Instead click Manual
- Carefully fill in the form, as directed.
- Remember garbage, garbage out!
