WELCOME TO THE ETHNIC, GENDER & TRANSBORDER STUDIES SUMMIT

The 5th Annual Ethnic, Gender & Transborder Studies VIRTUAL Summit, Healing Community in Coronatimes: Education, Migration, and Identity, will take place 9 a.m.-3 p.m., April 28. Register here.

The summit will include presentations, storytelling, art, a student scholarship contest (details at Pima Academic Works/Our Opportunities page), refugee experiences and the impact on local communities from multiracial-ethnic, gender, and sexuality perspectives.

Featured speakers include local, national and international scholars, students, policy makers, and community activists. They will share their work and open conversations about our connections, shared struggles, and how to support each other to heal and build.

The keynote speaker is Bamby Salcedo, transgender and migrant rights scholar and activist and president of TransLatin@ Coalition. The event is free and open to the public. Staff professional development hours available.
